No fine print, because there's nothing here we'd rather you didn't read.
This is what you're paying for, what we're responsible for, and how the
money works.
01
What we provide
Heavy Helper & Co. is a moving labor company built on
what we call the Labor-Only model. We supply the crew — loading, unloading,
packing, unpacking, and in-home moves. We serve Palm Beach County, including
West Palm Beach, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, and
Boynton Beach.
We do not provide the truck. You bring your own, or you rent
one from U-Haul, Penske, Budget, Home Depot — whoever you want. You pay them
their real cost, with nothing added on top by us. That's the whole reason our
pricing works the way it does. If you're renting, we're glad to help you pick
the right size and point you to the nearest location, but the rental contract
is between you and them.
If you'd rather hand off the truck too, ask — we can coordinate reserving it,
loading it and returning it as part of a full-service booking. You decide how
much to take off your plate.
02
Rates and how time is counted
We charge a flat hourly rate, quoted before the job.
Moves have a 2-hour minimum. It applies whether the job takes
2 hours or forty minutes.
Small jobs — a quick task in one place — have a
1-hour minimum.
A furniture pickup and delivery has a flat $312.50 base
(1.5 hours of labor plus the truck), even if it takes less time.
Time starts when the crew arrives and ends when the work is done.
Past the minimum, time is billed in 30-minute increments.
Any quote you receive online is an estimate, not a fixed price.
It's based on what you told us about the job. The final amount reflects the
hours actually worked. If we see the job running long, we tell you before it
does — not after.
03
Reserving your date
Submitting a reservation online does not charge you anything.
No card is taken and no payment method is stored at that point. What you
submit is a hold on your requested date, time and job details.
We call you within 24 hours to confirm availability, go over
the job, and give you your exact final price before anything is locked in on
either side.
Every crew arrives fully equipped — moving pads, shrink wrap,
tape, dollies, straps and tools. All of it is included in the hourly rate:
no add-ons and no materials fee.
04
How payment works
Any number you see on the website before that confirmation call is a
reference, not a fixed price. It's built from what you told
us about the job. The real total reflects the hours the crew actually works,
at the rate we confirm with you by phone.
We arrange how and when you pay — by card or however works best for you —
when we confirm your booking, or on move day itself.
We will always tell you the final amount, based on hours actually
worked, before anything is charged. If something looks wrong, we
sort it out before any money moves.
Deposit. If you'd like to lock your date with a card, we send
you a secure link for a deposit equal to one hour at your quoted rate. It
comes off your total. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel.
Paying in full ahead of time. If the job takes less time than
estimated, we refund the difference — down to the job minimum (2 hours for
moves; the $312.50 base for a furniture pickup). If it runs longer, the extra time is billed at
the same rate.
05
Cancellations and rescheduling
If you reserved without a deposit, cancelling or rescheduling before the job
costs you nothing. If you paid a deposit, it's non-refundable if you cancel.
More than 48 hours out: reschedule freely. Cancelling costs
nothing beyond the deposit, if you paid one.
Less than 48 hours: let us know as soon as you can. It's
the only way we can offer the slot to someone else, and repeated
last-minute cancellations may affect our ability to hold future dates
for you.
No access on arrival: if the crew arrives and cannot begin
within 45 minutes — no key, no elevator reserved, no truck on site — the
job minimum applies.
If we cancel for any reason other than severe weather or a documented
emergency, there's no charge to you and we help you find coverage.
06
Where our responsibility begins and ends
Heavy Helper & Co. provides labor only. We are not a
licensed motor carrier, we do not transport goods, and we do not drive
your truck. You hold the rental contract, and you or someone you
authorize drives it.
Our responsibility covers the work our hands do:
Loading — from the moment we lift an item until it is
placed and secured in your truck, container or storage unit.
Unloading — from the moment we lift an item out until
it is set down where you direct.
Packing, unpacking, and in-home moves performed by our crew.
Once the truck doors close, coverage is not ours. Damage
or loss that occurs in transit — while driving, from road conditions,
accidents, theft, weather or shifting load — falls to you and to the
company that rented you the vehicle. Rental companies sell coverage for
exactly this, and we recommend taking it.
This isn't a technicality we hide behind. It's what makes labor-only
pricing possible, and it's why you aren't paying a carrier's markup.
07
Damage claims and limits
We carry general liability coverage for property damage caused by our crew
during the work described above. Report any damage within 24 hours
of job completion, with photos, so we can document and resolve it. Claims
raised after that window can't be separated from normal wear or transit.
Our liability for any single job is limited to the total labor charges
paid for that job. For higher-value protection, buy coverage through
your truck rental company or check your homeowner's or renter's policy.
We are not responsible for:
Items you packed yourself, where the packing caused the damage.
Pre-existing damage, or wear consistent with normal handling.
Damage from structural conditions — narrow doorways, weak railings,
unstable flooring, low ceilings — whether or not disclosed.
Particleboard and flat-pack furniture that fails under normal movement.
It isn't built to be moved assembled, and we'll say so before we lift it.
Anything inside a box or container we did not pack.
Mechanical or electronic function. We can be responsible for visible
damage to an appliance or television; we can't guarantee it powers on.
Damage caused by equipment you supplied — the truck, ramps, dollies,
straps or lift gates.
Tell us about high-value items in advance — art, instruments,
antiques, safes, anything over $500. Some need handling we can arrange, and
some we'll honestly tell you to move yourself or hire a specialist for.
08
What we need from you
These aren't formalities. Each one is a job we've seen go sideways.
Someone 18 or older on site for the whole job, or a person
you authorize in writing. We work from their direction and aren't liable
for placement decisions made by someone else.
Building requirements handled in advance — elevator
reservations, loading dock times, HOA approvals, gate codes. Many Palm
Beach buildings also require a certificate of insurance. Ask and we'll
send it, but tell us before move day.
Legal parking for the truck. Tickets, towing and permit
fees are yours.
Utilities disconnected. We don't disconnect gas lines,
water lines or hardwired electrical. Washers, dryers, ice-maker
refrigerators and gas appliances must be disconnected and drained before
we arrive, or we move them as-is and can't be responsible for leaks.
Disclosure of pests or hazards. If we find bed bugs,
infestation, mold, animal waste or biohazards, we stop work and the
job minimum applies. This protects your next home and every customer
after you.
A clear, safe path. If conditions are unsafe — standing
water, unstable stairs, aggressive animals — we'll ask you to fix it
before we continue.
09
What we won't move
Hazardous materials — propane, gasoline, paint, chemicals, ammunition.
Live animals. Perishables. Cash, jewelry, and important documents, which
you should transport yourself.
We also reserve the right to decline any item our crew judges unsafe to lift
given the conditions on site. That call protects your property and our people.
10
Weather and circumstances beyond control
South Florida weather is what it is. Light rain doesn't stop us — we bring
protection and keep working. Named storms, flooding, lightning and
evacuation orders do. If we cancel for severe weather, there's no charge to
you and you get priority on the next available date.
We're likewise not liable for delays caused by traffic, building access
problems, or a rental truck that isn't ready when we arrive.
11
Our crew
Our people are trained, background-checked and covered under our insurance.
Tips are appreciated and never expected — they aren't built into your rate.
Please don't hire our crew directly. Arranging work with a
Heavy Helper mover outside of us within 12 months of your job removes all
insurance coverage and any recourse you'd have with us.
We may photograph completed work for our records and marketing. We never
photograph your belongings in a way that identifies you or your address,
and if you'd rather we didn't, just say so — no explanation needed.
12
TV mounting and special items
A TV to mount, or a special item like a treadmill or a marble top, is something you
flag on your reservation — there's no charge for flagging it online. It just
tells us to send the right crew and equipment.
Pricing for TV mounting and special items is confirmed by phone
when we call to finalize your booking, not quoted on the website. For in-wall
cable work specifically, we'll also confirm feasibility on site, since it
depends on wall type and accessibility.
13
Disputes
Call us first. Most billing questions are a misunderstanding about hours,
and we resolve them the same day. A chargeback filed without contacting us
costs both of us money and time over something a phone call fixes.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
